Good Evening Everyone! I hope that you survived the snow and ice.
The hardest part of event planning I think is finding the right vendors. There are so many different types of vendors. There is also so many to choose from in each category. I want to help you learn about different vendors. Each Monday I will post about a vendor in Oregon. It will be a different type of vendor each week. I will get as much information about each vendor as possible to help you learn about them.
I am currently working in the event industry in Portland. Since this is the first Vendor Monday, I think the first vendor should be where I work!
World Forestry Center
- The World Forestry Center is located across the street from the Oregon Zoo right off the max line. The World Forestry Center is a museum about US and World forestry. Many people do not know that they have event space, but actually they have 5 different event spaces. They have space ranging from 50 to 400 people. They do weddings, auctions, company parties/ meetings, and more. The great thing about this venue is that it is a nonprofit. Your money would be going to the museum and forestry research. Their rental fee does not change through out the year.
They have indoor and outdoor space. With your rental, you get access to their chairs (indoors) and their tables that they will set up for you. They also have some AV equipment available.
They do require that you use one of their caterers, but they have 16 to choose from. They are all well known caterers in the Portland area and range in pricing. They also allow you to have alcohol at your event.
They are also really close to some great places for pictures. They are only 10 minutes away from the Portland Rose Garden and Japanese Garden. There is forestry behind them and a many bridges for pictures. Near one of the main event halls, there is a train that is a must have picture on the list. Depending on when you take pictures, you are more than welcome to take pictures inside the interactive museum.
All of their spaces are beautiful! I have posted some pictures below for you to see.
If you have any questions about the World Forestry Center, comment or email me at perfectlyblossomed@gmail.com!
Thanks for reading!
